We have finally reached the half-way point on our journey through the steps of branding. And in my opinion, these next two steps could be the most important to your brand…
1. Define the Problem
2. Envision the End
3. Define the Approach
4. Incite Support and Action
5. Seek Insight Now that you have a totally inspired team backing your project, its time to look ahead. It is the time to find and solve any potential problems you might encounter. How do you do this you might ask? Research, research, research. If you want to be successful, you have to know the ins and outs of anything and everything concerning your business. Designers spend hours upon hours of research before they even sit down to design. If you have a team of designers working for you, you can be sure that they have done their homework.
6. Prototype Potential Solutions Once all the research is done, you can then start testing your product/brand. Sometimes this means creating an experience or environment for your customer. Sometimes it means creating a mock up of your packaging. This is a vital step because you can test your ideas to see if they work and are practical. Designers create mock ups all the time whether it’s a business card or a six-page brochure. Once your go through this “trial run,” it becomes much easier to pick out problems and can then be fixed.
If you haven’t already, it is time for you to check out the AIGA site. Not only is it full of great resources, but it is also a great place to look for inspiration.
Until next month, dear readers…
