Advertising Online…can be tricky and rewarding
Online advertising comes in many different forms, with many different costumes, some are great and some are quite scary. Many businesses that have advertised for years in print and are now moving towards online advertising may wonder,
“Is online advertising a trick or a treat?”
In my experience of 2+ years of online advertising, in many cases it is a treat for clients! Online advertising is a way to give exposure to your business 24/7. The ad can move and isn’t restricted to one black and white page. In addition, online ads can hit a wide audience that in many cases can be tracked by location, date, the amount of visitors viewing the ad and so forth.
One of my infamous caps that I wear at JLB is the advertising cap of FranklinIs.com. This cap incorporates many aspects of advertising. From start to finish, I pursue possible clients. I sit down with clients, listen to their online advertising needs, craft an ad package to suit those needs, negotiate a fair price, write up the contract and then the creative part begins…
Depending on their FranklinIs.com advertising needs, ads fall into two categories graphic ads and advertorials. Designing banner ads is one of my favorite things about my position at JLB. In addition, I also enjoy writing advertorials.
With the banner ad, there is the challenge of using images and designs to let the ad speak with few words. The whole goal of the ad is to raise awareness about the business and cause people to become curious and click on the ad thus taking them to the client’s website and hopefully the FI client gains a new client through the whole experience.
With advertorials, in many cases I interview the client and write “their story.” If the client already has “their story” compiled, I dig through the text and edit it. Writing and editing are two essential keys in advertising. Working on advertorials, there are always photos that need to be edited, resized and placed into the article in appropriate places. Whether the ad falls into graphic design or advertorials both require a creativity and attention to detail.
Right now, FranklinIs.com is cooking up some pretty sweet treats for clients. If you are interested in learning more about how FranklinIs can help you with online advertising, send us an email: firstname.lastname@example.org. These deals are sure to be a treat!
